Katie is a member of the Junior Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, which opened the program with three songs: “Sorida (A Zimbabwe Greeting),” “To Sit and Dream,” and “Freedom Train.”
Mr. Heavner, who is an accompanist for the Mendelssohn Choir, played piano for the program which featured 15 songs, including “Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit,” “Wade in the Water,” and “Go Down Moses.”
