Shadow Day (Available October 1 - May 31)
One of the most important ways for families to connect with Sewickley Academy is to experience a Shadow Day. Shadow Days allow students to experience what it would be like to attend Sewickley Academy as a student in our community.
A Shadow Day is a requirement of the application process for Grades 1-11. During a typical Shadow Day, your child will shadow a current student from 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. to experience first-hand what a day would be like. Your child will attend classes and meet current faculty, staff, and students, as well as enjoy a meal in our cafeteria. Additionally, their screening (Grades 1-4) or interview (Grades 5-11) will be completed during this day. Usually, a parent tour is part of the Shadow Day.
Tours & Interviews (Available Year Round)
In certain cases, families cannot do the required interview and tour during their Shadow Day and need to schedule it separately. Our tours last approximately 30 minutes, and we hope that you stay to speak with our Director of Admission or Assistant Director of Admission after the tour is complete.
In order to streamline some of the requirements during the admission process, student interviews for applicants to Grades 5-11 can be scheduled immediately following our tours. Interviews typically take about 15 minutes. Applicants to Grades Pre-K-4 need to be screened by an admission director. This session takes approximately 75 minutes and can be scheduled to take place on the same day as the tour or arranged on a separate day.
