In late 2010, the Board of Trustees embarked on a strategic planning process to accomplish the following objectives:
- Create a 3-5 year strategic plan through an inclusive process;
- Implement a process that serves to build community.
Through focus groups, surveys, retreats, summits, and interviews, the Board of Trustees' Strategic Planning Steering Committee has worked hard to achieve its objectives and fulfill its charge. Over 500 people participated in the process in one way or another, and the following plan represents voices from students, parents, faculty and staff, alumni, trustees, and grandparents. Building on the initiatives of the last strategic plan, this plan defines an exciting future for Sewickley Academy with primary focus on teaching and learning, community and communications, and sustainability and branding.
This document will serve as a guide for the school’s work over the next 3-5 years. The tasks may be revised, but the goals and objectives are the compass by which the school will gauge its progress and effectiveness. The lead on each task or action will be charged with determining the method by which the work will be evaluated and measured. In many cases, such as admission and advancement, metrics are clear. In other areas, there will be a deliberate and appropriate effort to define and measure results.
Sewickley Academy continues to move forward, and the commitment to serving students remains at the center of everything we do.
