Two Grade 5 Students Receive Community of Respect Award
During the last Lower School assembly of the school year, Head of Lower School Dr. Cricket Mikheev, with the help of last year's awardees Jaydon and Skylar, presented the Community of Respect Award to Grade 5 students Milagros and Luca.
Eighth Grade Student Takes on the National History Day Competition

After winning the Pennsylvania state competition, Eighth grader, Roshni Thakkar moved on to represent the state at the national competitions junior division.
The National History Day finals are held at The University of Maryland from June 10th through the 14th. Students from each state territory from around the country come together and display their projects that all follow an annual theme, the 2018 theme being “Conflict and Compromise.” While there, Roshni presented in the website category and showed her custom site that captured the story of Nelson Mandela. Her website shows in depth detail of Mandela's life and even shows personal interviews between people who knew Mandela in prison and Roshni herself. Roshni finished the competition in fifth place in the junior division, and was also awarded the Outstanding Affiliate Award. This is given one student from the junior and senior division from each state or territory. Congratulations Roshni and good luck in future competition.
