Sewickley Academy students are now in the third year of the regionally held student-led Leadership in Equity and Diversity (L.E.A.D.) Conference.
This platform has allowed more than 300 students region-wide to engage in workshops that have covered a variety of topics.
In 2020, the L.E.A.D. Conference continued to focus on the representation of our community’s voices as it encompasses race and ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, language, culture, national origin, faith traditions, age, and (dis)ability status.
We were delighted to welcome Sewickley Academy alumna Wilkinsburg Mayor Marita Garrett ’04, and Pittsburgh’s own nationally recognized author Damon Young.
Sewickley Academy students are given the opportunity to practice interviewing skills with guest speakers during the L.E.A.D. Conference.
