Students Make Big Screen Debut at Pittsburgh's Sixth Annual Antelope Film Festival
By: Lawrence Connolly, Senior School English Teacher
Making their big screen debuts at the Melwood Screening Room in Oakland, senior Nina and junior Millen took part in Pittsburgh's sixth annual Antelope Film Festival on May 12.
Sponsored in part by Pittsburgh Filmmakers and presented this year in conjunction with Pittsburgh's Bicentennial, the festival featured short films about Pittsburgh's history.
Nina's film, "Our Neighborhood," focused on the city's connection with the evolution of public television, while Millen's "From Soldiers to Champions" dramatized the region's growth through a photo montage set to an original rock score. Assisting on the productions were Jakob Goebel '13, who provided the music for "Our Neighborhood," and Ryan '17 and Arjun '21, who contributed vocals and drums to the score of "From Soldiers to Champions." Sajen '22 also had a cameo in Millen's film.
