SA Puts on a Culture Kaleidoscope
Sewickley Academy’s annual International Dinner: Culture Kaleidoscope was held on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
Approximately 180 attendees enjoyed food from the families of the Indian Culture Club, Irish Culture Club, African-American Awareness Club, Jewish Culture Club, Asian Culture Club, Spanish Culture Club, and the Italian and French Culture Club. Everyone came together with food and performances to celebrate the diverse Sewickley Academy community.
The Student Diversity Leadership Club organized the event and impressed the importance of community reflection to the audience. Performances from the culture clubs represented Irish music, "bhangra inspired" dance from the Indian Culture Club, student-choreographed African Dance, piano composition, and the compelling personal performance monologues from the Islamic Culture Club. The performances were enjoyed by all.
This event is a crowd pleaser, but more importantly, it's another community moment to celebrate the diversity represented among our Sewickley Academy families.
