Sweet Victory – Boys Soccer Team Returns to Hershey
Sewickley Academy defeated Bishop McCort in the PIAA Class A semifinal game Tuesday, advancing the team to the PIAA final in Hershey for the fourth straight year.
After regulation and two overtimes, the game was tied 1-1. Freshman Alex Gordon scored in the 10th round of penalty kicks to secure SA’s 2-1 victory. Senior goalkeeper Jackson O’Neill made eight saves in regulation and overtime. He stopped a shot in the 10th round of penalty kicks to set up Gordon’s game-winning goal.
SA takes on East Juniata in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hersheypark Stadium. Go Panthers!
