Global Studies Car Wash & Bake Sale for Nepal was a Big Success!
Members of the Global Studies Certificate Program raised $1,192 for Next Generation Nepal!
On Saturday, May 30th our Global Studies students held a successful car wash and bake sale fundraiser that resulted in $1,192 total for Next Generation Nepal (NGN)! Next Generation Nepal is an organization that helps prevent child trafficking in Nepal and reunite children with their families.
Students initiated, planned, and executed this project upon learning of the recent earthquakes and destruction in the Kathmandu area of Nepal. After reading the book "Little Princes" by Conor Grennan, in their human geography class, students were inspired to help Nepal is some way and choose to support an organization with existing “boots on the ground.”
Many thanks to everyone who helped make this a great event - parents, students, faculty, and staff who supported the event by baking, washing cars, handing out flyers, making signs, and generously donating to this worthy cause! For more info visit: www.nextgenerationnepal.org.
