Varsity Softball Team is Making History!
Panthers win first section championship and first playoff game in school history!
On Friday, May 1, the varsity softball team defeated Cornell 14 - 0 to earn the first section championship in school history! The Panthers finished out the regular season by defeating Burgettstown 4 - 2 on Thursday, May 7. On Tuesday, May 12, the team played Union in the first round of WPIAL playoffs and won!
Congratulations to the varsity softball for defeating Union 8 - 2 on the strengths of multiple hit days by Kat Goebel, Olivia Henry, Chandler White, and Hannah McGinley. Savannah Henry pitched all seven innings, allowing no earned runs with 5 strikeouts and no walks. This was the first WPIAL softball playoff victory in school history!
The team will play Jefferson-Morgan in the quarterfinals on Monday, May 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Field.
