Civil Rights Freedom Singer Visits Campus
Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) Freedom Singer Ms. Rutha Harris, visits SA to share about her personal involvement with the Civil Rights Movement.
On February 23, Ms. Harris will share the story of the Civil Rights Movement and SNCC with Middle and Senior School students.
Rutha will talk about how and why she became involved in the movement, and as a result of her gift of singing she was recruited to be a part of the Freedom Singers.
Students will be pulled into the conversation as she teaches those in attendance songs and has them sing along.
