Sewickley Academy is excited to welcome Cameron Johnson, one of the most successful young entrepreneurs in the world, as the first Sewickley Series speaker of the 2014-15 school year. Cameron will present his talk – Who Calls the Shots? – on Wednesday, September 17, at 8:30AM in the Gregg Theater.
Cameron Johnson started his career at the age of 7, when he sold vegetables door-to-door to his neighbors. In fourth grade, he became the top seller of raffle tickets at his school; in fifth, the top seller of wrapping paper. When his parents gave him a computer, he started his own business printing greeting cards and stationery and selling them to family and friends. He opened his own checking account before turning 10 and made his first million before 21.
Now, Cameron consults with Fortune 500 companies with practical strategies for shaking up company culture. He was a runner-up on Oprah's prime-time series, The Big Give, and is the author of You Call the Shots. Cameron also travels around the country to speak with students about finding extraordinary success through doing what they love. Students learn valuable lessons about harnessing their true potential by exploring the places they might not think to look.
During his open-to-the-pubic talk with parents, he will share his experiences of being young and dreaming big, and the ways his parents supported him and how they didn’t. Cameron will share tips about how to strike a balance of encouraging children to follow their dreams while helping them keep their feet on the ground.
ALL SEWICKLEY SERIES PROGRAMS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
