Tradition and pride go a long way in sports and in life. For decades, the Sewickley Academy boy's varsity tennis team has been built on hard work, sportsmanship and teamwork. Former players come back year after year to observe current players to make sure that they are doing things the right way with passion and integrity.
Playing a very competitive schedule on an annual basis against many of Western Pennsylvania's finest always prepares our team for the playoffs. The results speak for themselves. Since 1993, we have won fourteen WPIAL Championships and finished second the other three times. Furthermore, we captured a PIAA Championship in 2006, and advanced to the PIAA finals in 2005, 2007, and 2008.
Lifelong friendships are common amongst Sewickley tennis players, because they are part of an extended family that cares about one another. Knowing that they are part of something special provides a bond which brings them closer in looking forward to the challenge of a new season.
