Social Science
Social science is the scientific study of human thought and behavior, interpersonal relationships, and the institutional structure and functioning of human society. Its goal is to contribute to human welfare by understanding why people do what they do. Social scientists are employed in a variety of governmental, industrial, educational, and non-profit organizations where they analyze policies, perform statistical analysis on social data, and design and conduct experiments on human subjects.
Sewickley Academy's Department of Social Sciences is committed to conducting basic and applied research on a variety of social, economic, educational, cultural, and environmental topics in order to prepare students to address and analyze social interactions and problems which will contribute to their success in the world and everyday life.
