Summerbridge Pittsburgh

Summerbridge Pittsburgh provides academic and cultural enrichment to middle school and high school students facing limited opportunities. We strive to ensure that all of our students obtain a high school diploma and matriculate to a four-year college.

Summerbridge offers a six-week academic enrichment summer program to rising seventh, eighth, and ninth graders on the Sewickley Academy campus. After three summers in our program, students qualify for our high school program, which provides high school options counseling and help preparing for the SAT college admissions test. Both our middle school and high school students qualify for free school-year tutoring to help them with their studies, as well as cultural programs to build their interests in other topics and become more diverse individuals.

Summerbridge Pittsburgh also inspires young adults to pursue careers in education. High school and college-aged students are instructors during our summer program and tutors during the school year. Our teachers are the life-blood of the program, and many of them go on to careers in education, which is part of the Breakthrough Collaborative's "students teaching students" model of education. For more information about the Breakthrough Collaborative, our national organization, visit www.breakthroughcollaborative.org.
