How to Apply
Sewickley Academy welcomes qualified applicants with a variety of talents, interests, and perspectives, without regard to race, religion, gender, national or ethnic origin, or sexual orientation. We seek students who are motivated and enthusiastic about learning, and who will contribute to and benefit from the stimulating academic environment offered here.
Application Checklist
- Submit an online inquiry by clicking on the "Request Information" tab. This will generate a username and password allowing access to the online application. If you already have your username and password, start the application here: (Apply Online)
- Submit the $50 application fee as part of the online application process.
- For applicants to Grades 2-12, schedule a student shadow day by calling 412-741-2230 ext. 3056.
- Schedule a parent visit with a member of the Admission Office by calling 412-741-2230 ext. 3056.
- Request a transcript from current school by using the Records Request Form.
- Download the appropriate Teacher Recommendation Form and submit to child's current teacher(s).
- PK, K, Grade 1: Required only if your child is currently attending another program
- Grades 2-5: Completed by child's current teacher
- Grades 6-12: Completed by child's current math and English teachers - Download and complete the Student Questionnaire (only for applicants to Grades 6-12).
- Complete the appropriate testing/screening:
- PK, K, Grade 1: Screening to evaluate readiness done by Sewickley Academy personnel in individual and group setting. We will contact you in January 2010 with dates.
- Grades 2-4: Screening conducted by member of Office of Admission during school visit.
- Grades 5-12: Complete the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).
ISEE testing at Sewickley Academy is from 8 am to noon on January 23, March 6, and April 10, 2010. Online registration is required three weeks prior to the testing date via Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).

The Office of Admission operates on a rolling admission basis after the first round consideration.
