Diversity

Diversity, one of the four core values of the Academy, provides the inspiration for academic programs and service learning initiatives that prepare students for emerging social, cultural, political, and economic challenges of the United States and the world beyond.

The Academy is actively committed to providing a challenging educational program at every level of the school with a focus on maximizing the potential of each individual student. It seeks to attract and retain a diverse, talented student body as well as faculty and staff from a variety of cultural, religious, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. Sewickley Academy affirms and celebrates the understanding of differences and commonalities in beliefs, ideas, and experiences. Faculty are committed to developing and supporting a curriculum that prepares students to effectively participate in an interdependent global community. Each member of the Academy community is responsible for enhancing and deepening the understanding of diversity as an asset that enriches the school.
