After a great week in Myrtle Beach, SA opened the newly renovated Nichols Field against section opponent St. Joseph’s. The nerves stayed in Myrtle Beach as we started the game with an excellent top of the first with a fly out and 2 strikeouts by Freshman pitcher Joe Nagel. Offensively, we started out strong as well – and stayed strong throughout. We hit the ball all over the field while taking advantage of our adaptation of the new BBCOR bats. Having our fans cheering behind home plate really boosts that “Home Field Advantage,” so please keep packing those stands!
The game ball went to Joe Nagel, who gave up only 5 hits, striking out 8.
