Varsity Boys Swimming

Sewickley Academy and Quaker Valley formed a cooperative swim team under PIAA guidelines. Since Quaker Valley is the larger school, the team is known as QV. Swimming and Diving is a varsity sport for grades 9-12. All swimming and dryland training is done at the Sewickley YMCA. The season begins in November and culminates in March with the PIAA State Championships at Bucknell University.

Both boys’ and girls’ teams have enjoyed great success in the past, posting top 10 finishes at MACs and WPIALs as well as qualifying athletes for state competition. With multiple letter winners, including swimmers with state experience, returning and a large group of talented underclassmen joining the team, expectations are even higher this year.

Athletics

Sportsmanship and the ability to win or lose with grace and humility are at the core of the teachings of the athletic program. Participation on the field, court, course, and in the pool offers students a way to meld academic pursuits with those that open doors to friendships, leadership, and teamwork.
