Sculley Sabbatical

Established in 1997 with a generous grant from Paula and David Sculley, the Sculley Sabbatical is intended to provide the Sewickley Academy faculty with opportunities for global travel. The Sculleys understood that there is no substitute for an "understanding of other cultures and the problems of the globe through first-hand personal experience." The fund, therefore, provides support for one member of faculty each year to undertake enriching global travel. Recipients are in turn expected to use their experiences to "stimulate the intellectual life of their students."

The Jerry Smith Award for Outstanding Service

Established in 2011 in memory of Jerry Smith, The Jerry Smith Award for Outstanding Service has been established to honor Jerry’s 44 years of remarkable service to Sewickley Academy, the last 14 of which were as a member of the Academy staff. In all that he did, Jerry focused on the people and the job at hand, never on seeking recognition for himself. Given annually, the Award is presented to that member of staff who has exhibited those qualities best characterized by Jerry Smith: devotion to the school, commitment to excellence, care for others, and personal humility.
